Over 1 Million Downloads!

As we prepare to wrap up Season 3, The Storage Papers has officially reached the one million downloads milestone!  For a podcast, that’s a huge deal, let alone an audiodrama.

I’d like to thank all of the listeners who have inspired us to keep the podcast in motion, and who keep returning for more content.  There’s also some listeners who connect with us on social media and interact with us there. Every little bit of interaction there helps us gain a little more exposure.  The listeners who also took the time to rate and review our show also contribute to our success.

Nathan Lunsford and Cody Ditzenberger deserve a huge thanks here as well.  Without their addition to the team and hard work, there’s no way the show would have been continued on, or at least be where it is today at the end of Season 3!

Everyone who has contributed in the show in some way such as writing, helping in some way with the The Storage Papers, Volume 1 (our book), or who has done a lot to just share our show.  Those include Hunter Delametter, Esme Snyder, Firestar, Brad Petrie, Kelsey Rapine, Anya Harris and Tara Diercks.

The team over at Rusty Quill has been hugely instrumental in this milestone.  Between Seasons 1 and 2, we had reached about 225k downloads, and the rest of them have all come during Season 3 as part of the Rusty Quill Network.  Callum Dougherty has been the driving force of our initial introduction to the network and our partnership with RQN, and continues to support us in ways we’re likely not even aware of.  There are quite a few other podcasts in the RQN that have collaborated in some way, whether that’s advertising or guest appearance opportunities like on Enthusigasm.  I know there’s a huge team at RQN contributing to our success that we likely haven’t had a conversation with, so I hope you realize how grateful we are on this end!

We absolutely need to throw a thank you out to our super-fans, the Curators!  These are our independent supporters who back our show financially on Patreon.  I’m incredibly humbled by the idea that people like our content so much that they’re willing to financially support our efforts, and your support goes a very long way!  I know we’ve experimented with our reward tiers a bit over the last year, but we’ve always wanted to show recognition to our Curators, so definitely check out our “Thanks” page to see those names.

And last but most definitely not least, we’d like to throw some thanks toward some other podcasters who have collaborated with us, who are consistent in their support of the show, and/or have just allowed us to exchange ideas along the way. Those include our PodPeeps group: Malevolent, The Cellar Letters, The Town Whispers, The Dead Letter Office of Somewhere, Ohio, Wake of Corrosion, Nowhere on Air, A Voice From Darkness, Woe.Begone, and The Night Post.  In addition, thanks to Pseudopod for involving us in The Witching Hour and Harlan Guthrie for involving us in Nine to Midnight.

I hope you can tune into the Season 3 finale on February 1 (don’t listen if you’re not caught up yet). We’re fast at work on Season 4 right now, but we’re also far from finished with Jeremy’s story. We look forward to everything the future has in store. Thank you so much for your support!

The Storage Papers Joins the RQ Podcast Network

Rusty Quill Logo

It feels oh-so-good to finally be able to disclose this… through many months of planning, biting our fingernails with anticipation, we have officially joined the RQ Podcast Network! You know… the team who brought us their award-winning superhit, The Magnus Archives, Stellar Firma, Outliers and Rusty Quill Gaming. The timing of this couldn’t have been better because, as you know, Season 3 of The Storage Papers premiers tomorrow! You may notice a small addition to The Storage Papers podcast art in the lower right-hand corner (wink, wink).

What does this mean for you? Not only will you still get to enjoy The Storage Papers, but there should be some additional activities and appearances by our team coming up in the near future. I won’t spoil the details here, but it’s going to be a ton of fun! Plus, it’s largely due to our partnership with the RQ Network that we’ve committed to 20-episode seasons, so you’re getting more of the show for free. We recently announced our Patreon campaign, but in addition to that, there will soon be merchandize for sale in the Rusty Quill shop, and some really cool stuff planned for the future in collaboration.

What does this mean for us? Well, we’re extremely honored and excited to partner with the RQ Network, a team that enjoys horror and mystery as much as we do. The RQ Network will be distributing and marketing all of our episodes for Seasons 3 and 4. It’s a multi-team approach with high hopes of filling a small fraction of the void that the end of The Magnus Archives left in the world – we believe that if you loved The Magnus Archives, there’s a good chance you’ll enjoy The Storage Papers. It also means a great deal of exposure for The Storage Papers as the RQ Network is perfectly suited to bring the show to new audiences. We are beyond thrilled to experience the comfort and confidence of being part of a team of podcasters that will also include other shows such as Cryptids, The Deca Tapes, How it Ends, and Old Gods of Appalachia.

This is truly a unique time for podcasting as partnerships in general. We’re seeing so many creative and innovative ways to partner and network with other productions, and we have certainly been looking to grow our small production. We truly believe we’ve found a home with the RQ Network, a podcast network “by podcasters, for podcasters” who are literally forming groundbreaking new opportunities for podcasting. As we move forward with the bi-weekly episodes in Season 3 starting tomorrow, we’re so glad you’re here on this journey with us. Thank you so much for your support, and we’ll keep you updated with news and updates primarily via our social media accounts.

Show Update & Sticker Giveaway

Hi everyone, this is Jeremy. I just wanted to take an opportunity to let you know about all the things we’ve added this season.  In addition to our new website, we’ve added a Facebook Group and YouTube channel (with captions), as well as information about the show on the website itself.  In addition, each episode released for Season 2 has unique episode art.  We now have full episode transcripts available on our website if you’d like to read along while you listen.

The Storage Papers is free to listen to, but it’s not necessarily free to create.  If you feel so inclined, we now have a donation option up on the website where you can give a one-time donation for what you think the show is worth.  Every penny really does help!  There’s also  a limited supply of stickers for purchase there too, measuring 3” x 3” of The Storage Papers logo for $5.  And if you don’t necessarily have the means to financially support the show, you can still do so by sharing our social media posts with your friends.  I’ll be doing a random drawing to give away 5 of our stickers to anyone who shares a social media post about the show and tags us between now and September 12.

Thanks for sticking with the show through all of the COVID drama, and I hope you enjoy the remaining episodes of Season 2!

July, 2020 Update

Exactly one year ago today, The Storage Papers Season 1 Trailer was released. It took about 4 weeks for Episode 1 to obtain a total of 50 downloads. Today, “Baby Cries” has over 4k downloads, and after only 13 full episodes and a large pause in production due to some COVID-related issues personally, this show still manages to climb in listenership and has nearly 50,000 downloads as I’m writing this. I don’t post this to boast… there are many high-quality podcasts out there with much larger numbers, but I feel as if it says something about a show that has been all but abandoned for several months to continue to grow in popularity. All I can say is thank you! What started as a small, solo, passion project has taken on a life of its own, despite the neglect it wasn’t necessarily warranted or intended.

As subscribers to the podcast feed recently heard, I have confirmed the show hasn’t been discontinued, and that there are plans to complete the second season by the end of summer. But that’s just a small portion of what’s to come. If you’ve made your way to this post on our new website (much thanks to Nathan Lunsford for web design), that means you’re probably one of the most engaged listeners and fans. For being just that, I’d like to give you a little more detail about what’s been happening behind the scenes.

First, of course, is the additional help I’ve acquired. While I was solely responsible for Season 1’s content and the initial few episodes of Season 2, I’ve connected with some other talented writers who have taken a vested interest in the show and are going to be regularly contributing content… more info coming about them as we approach the end-of-summer release. There’s some amazing art work and original music coming as well. Then, there’s this website. Though it is minimal in origins, it’s going to serve as a hub of information as the show moves forward into Season 3 and beyond. I do have a YouTube channel in the works that will not only host as a feed for episodes, but for some additional content as well. I’ve also created a new Facebook Group for fans to hang out and discuss the show with each other and the creators. Again, more info will come at a later time on this. There will even be a few creative ways coming up for listeners to support the show, and to obtain some very cool rewards in the process.

I would be remiss if I didn’t answer the most common question I receive about The Storage Papers. That is, “is there an overlying plot?” The answer is, most certainly, yes! What has been revealed thus far is only a scratch on the surface. In addition, there are one or two things I am unable to speak about at the moment, and at least one thing that we have high hopes for, but may be a while before it comes into fruition.

I don’t say this to be intentionally vague, but to reassure you that we’re really just beginning. The plans are just starting scale up, foundations are being laid, and the talent is here, ready to churn out some of the creepiest, nightmare-bringing, soul-sucking content that your horror-seeking ear holes have been itching to devour. I’ll be posting occasional updates as we move forward, but for now, we’ll be working hard to get the rest of Season 2 out to you on-schedule. Thanks for listening!
